Washington Home Contractors is a contractor referral and project matching service. All construction services are provided by independent licensed contractors. Washington Home Contractors does not perform construction work.

These Standards & Guidelines describe the minimum standards of professionalism and compliance that every contractor in the Washington Home Contractors network agrees to uphold.

1. Credentialing Requirements

Maintain at all times: (a) active Washington State contractor registration; (b) active surety bond in the amount required by Washington law; (c) active general liability insurance meeting Washington minimums; and (d) all trade licenses required for work performed.

2. Communication Standards

Respond to homeowner inquiries within one (1) business day. Provide written estimates promptly. Keep homeowners informed of schedule changes.

3. On-Site Conduct

Arrive on time. Treat homeowners and their property with respect. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site daily. Protect interior finishes, landscaping, and adjoining property.

4. Sales & Estimating Practices

Provide good-faith estimates based on a real understanding of scope. No high-pressure tactics, deceptive comparisons, misleading 'today only' pricing, or fictitious discounts. Disclose change orders and additional charges in writing.

5. Permits, Code Compliance & Safety

Pull required permits in your own name. Perform work in compliance with applicable building, electrical, plumbing, and safety codes. Maintain L&I-compliant safety practices on every job.

6. Warranty & Service

Honor written workmanship warranties. Respond to legitimate warranty claims in a timely, professional manner.

7. Reviews & Reputation

Do not solicit fake reviews, bribe reviewers, or retaliate against honest negative reviews. Encourage real customers to share their genuine experience.

8. Enforcement

Violations may result in warning, suspension, or removal from the network. Repeated or serious violations (fraud, safety, license lapse, abusive conduct) will result in immediate removal.
